Over the past couple of weeks, there's been a lot of questions and misconceptions regarding Oklahoma's "Constitutional Carry" laws.

Oklahoma legislators are talking about gun control after the recent mass shootings that took place in Taft and Tulsa, OK. as well as across the Nation. Some lawmakers suggest that the state has too few laws and regulations regarding firearms and the safety of the general public.

Over the past couple of days, several stories have surfaced about Oklahoma malls and stores using A.I. gun detection technologies. People at Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City, OK. have been approached by mall security and asked if they were armed.

A woman in Charleston, West Virginia is being hailed a hero after she stopped a mass shooting. She was lawfully carrying a firearm and when a gunman appeared and began shooting into a crowd she shot and killed him saving the lives of all those who were present. The only injury or fatality reported was the gunman.

Yesterday (04-12-22) U.S. Senator James Lankford (R-OK) announced a new piece of legislation that he'll be introducing called the 'Pistol Brace Protection Act.' The bill would restrict the ATF from reclassifying pistol braces and prevent the agency from future regulation, registration, and taxation of these devices.

So how will Biden's latest gun control measures affect Oklahoma? There are new restrictions and changes being discussed that will certainly challenge the courts. Will the Sooner State remain a Second Amendment Sanctuary?

Texas Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX-13) has introduced a new bill that would prohibit state and city governments from taxing, charging user fees, and/or mandating insurance requirements on gun owners.

More firearm legislation is headed to the Oklahoma House for a vote. House Bill (HB-3069) would grant municipalities the authority to allow city employees to carry concealed firearms while at work or on duty. The bill would amend various prohibited locations and properties that are currently restricted such as properties, buildings, structures, and office space that is owned by the city which does business with the public.

There's a new Senate bill (SB-1366) that would change and/or amend Oklahoma's firearm laws as it relates to the state's self-defense act and open carry. The new bill was written and introduced by Senator Lonnie Paxton (R-Tuttle, OK.) and seeks to make changes to the language of the self-defense act and the practice of concealed or open carry of firearms in the state.
