While it's always nice when storms don't produce tornadoes, it's never fun seeing hail fall in your neighborhood. Most of the time, when you hear that familiar popping sound on the roof, your instinct is to hop up and run to the door or window to see just how bad it's going to get. Luckily, most of the time it's small. Like Mother Nature is tossing Tic-Tac candies at you... but sometimes that hail gets to an awkward size like it did last night.

That nickel to quarter size hail is fickle. It's not always big enough to do enough damage to your roof to get a new roof put in on insurance. It's just enough to put you out a few hundred to a few thousand dollars. I guess that's why the my neighbor always says "If it's going to hail, pray that it's big hail."
