Oklahoma just experienced the biggest weekend in state music history. 180,000-ish people gathered in Boone Pickens Stadium for four nights in a row to see all of the Oklahoma Red Dirt originals... and they left the stage teasing a return in 2026.

From what I've gathered through the hoard of buddies that went on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, there was no mention of this becoming an annual tradition... But if you stayed for the encore on Sunday night, Cody Canada hinted at the idea of bringing The Boys From Oklahoma back again next year.

This would not only be huge for Red Dirt music as a whole but even bigger as an Oklahoma-original festival built on Sooner State musicians.

Of course, it could be just part of keeping the energy up in the stadium with such a huge crowd, but the tease came at the end of the night.

While it'll be days before we hear the totals of what the event earned for bands and the Oklahoma State NIL contributions, but with $100 premium parking sold out, $14 cans of beer, and a capacity crowd each of the four nights, you can bet this would be an easy sell to make this an official Red Dirt Festival in the home of the genre.

Only time will tell, we should know by December if they'll make another run at it in 2026, and if the demand is still there.
