Third Summer Should Give Way to Second Fall This Weekend In Oklahoma
Right now Oklahoma is in one of those rare periods when farmers, city dwellers, and meteorologists all agree... Summer is finally coming to an end this weekend.
You have to admit, Summer put up a weird fight across the Sooner State this year. Really hot early on, extremely mild in the middle, and a brutally hot ending that keeps flip-flopping with fall temperatures... but this is it. Last Summer is coming to a close.
While the typical Oklahoma fall will kick off with a chance of rain early next week, which is against the standing forecast of a completely dry October, it all boils down to one simple Sooner State truth... You can't predict the weather in this state.
After all, every time it seemed like fall had arrived, summer would storm back into the room with that "And another thing..." attitude.
Here's what the forecast looks like.
If you've looked at the forecast on your phone, these temperatures look a little cooler than what everyone else is predicting... but a degree here or there has never been a big deal for Oklahomans.
All the same, actual fall won't arrive in Oklahoma until we all feel it in our sinuses. Those winds come sweeping down the plain with pollen and mold in the air making most of us miserable until it freezes... but then again, last year's long fall didn't see much in the way of fall allergies. Maybe 2024 will do the same.
Regardless, the time for hoodies and shorts is almost upon us. Hazaa!
