As crazy as this past year has been for most of us, I think we're all ready to say goodbye to 2023 and ring in the new year this weekend. Here's to hoping 2024 will be a much better year for us all. *Fingers crossed*

Either way, I'm sure you're looking forward to New Year's Eve and any plans, parties, or events you'll be attending to say farewell to 2023. So what does Mother Nature have in store for us this Sunday and Monday?

From the looks of it, she'll be giving us a reprieve from all the erratic insanity we've been dealing with lately. Right now according to the Farmers' Almanac and the current forecast we'll have cooler temps and no rain.

The weather prediction for both Sunday and Monday for New Year's Eve and New Years' Day is around 45 degrees during the day and low temperatures in the 30s at night. Not too bad, better than it has been.

The current forecast predicts nice weather on New Year's Eve & Day in Oklahoma

Melinda Nagy

It will be partly cloudy on both days but so far there isn't any chance of rain, snow, sleet, or other precipitation in the forecast. We could actually see temperatures in the mid-40s and mid-50s throughout the weekend.

So whatever your plans are for New Year's Eve and day you'll have decent weather for any travel you may have to do. Finally, Mother Nature is going to quit being moody and give us some good weather for a change.

Looks like we'll be able to finish out 2023 on a high note, weather-wise. Enjoy it while it lasts, soon it's going to get really cold and there's a possibility of snow and ice in mid-January through early February of 2024.

Take a look at the extended winter forecast for this winter by visiting the official Farmers' Almanac website. Whatever your plans are I hope you have a happy and safe New Year and wish you all the best in 2024.
