Where to Find Oklahoma’s Weirdest Scenery
You're probably aware, but Oklahoma is best known for its plains. At least that's what most people think of when you talk about the Sooner State. However, the Sooner State's portion of the Great Plains is really just the Northwest corner within our borders. We actually have some of the most diverse and widely varying land types in the country across the rest of it.
Beyond the plains, we also have swamps, deserts, mountains, forests, salt flats, and just about every other kind of land type around. Sandy, loamy soils, and rock-hard clay that seems to swell and shrink with the rains.
