When Will It Be Safe To Plant Flowers In Oklahoma In 2025?
As you probably realize, as we all wait on Oklahoma to warm up for the season, there's going to be the usual ups and downs over the next couple of weeks.
While it was very tempting to get out into the flower beds during those 80° days, it quickly turned back into a frigid last hurrah of Winter.
When will it be safe to plant flowers in the Sooner State?

Really, there's no concrete answer.
Per the almanac, the last freezes across Oklahoma typically happen in April. Early on in the first week if you're in Southern/Southwestern/Southeastern Oklahoma. It's mid-April for those living throughout the central belt, and late April if you're along the Northern portions of the state. The Panhandle gets cold weather even later.
The Sooner State has even recorded freezes and blizzard snows in May before, but those are pretty rare. The extended forecast predicts an early and very warm April into a downright hot May, but nobody can rule out a cold snap in there.
All the same, saving your plants from the cold is as easy as covering them with something - provided it doesn't get too cold.
As home and garden centers start their Spring marketing with the sales, you'll have to take a calculated risk on the weather. Some outlets do warranty their plants, but you'll still have to get down in the dirt at least twice in that case.
