Calling A Plumber: Bite the Bullet? Or Try It Yourself?
So I had this problem over the weekend that seemed to have an easy fix. Toilet started leaking, so I set off for a new two dollar wax ring. Tore into the project only to realize the previous homeowner either did, or paid, for a really bad repair job.
Instead of replacing the original iron flange with a modern PVC part, they decided to glue the two parts together. After hitting the roof and cursing a few names, I started to tackle this job the proper way myself. You see a few YouTube videos to get the self-confidence to hop in, but I eventually realized I had no clue what I was doing, or the proper tools to complete the job. I broke down and scheduled a plumber.
Ever have something like that happen to you?
