City of Lawton Reinstates Face Mask Policies at all City Owned Properties
Just when it looked like things were finally starting to get back to normal and everyone was going back to their lives and the things they enjoy doing, the dreaded second or maybe even third wave of COVID-19 hits. The entire country is battling back the virus and all the new variants like the Delta strain.
Here in S.W. Oklahoma it's especially bad and we're seeing soaring numbers of new cases and hospitalizations daily, weekly and monthly. Oklahoma ranks in the top 10 of states with the highest numbers of COVID-19 cases and in the top 5 when it comes to the number of people infected with the Delta variant.
Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases and variants both of our local hospitals CCMH (Comanche County Memorial Hospital) and SWMC (Southwestern Medical Center) are returning to their COVID-19 protocols. You can get all the details by clicking here. They made a few changes to their polices when it comes to face masks and what type of mask you'll need in order to enter the hospital.
