You could be drawn for the hunt of a lifetime! Elk season will soon be here starting  October 7th through the 10th then again on December 9th through the 12th.

Applications are now being accepted for the City of Lawton's 2021 elk hunt. If you're interested you'll need to submit an application and have a valid Oklahoma hunting license. You can apply and submit your application anytime from now until the deadline which is 5:00pm CST on Friday, September 3rd 2021 (09-03-21).

Applications for the City of Lawton's 2021 elk hunt are available at the City Clerk's Office located at 212 S.W. 9th Street in downtown. You can also get them at the Owen's Multi-Purpose Center 1405 S.W. 11th Street and at City Lakes Headquarters 23510 HWY 58.

They're also available online, click here to visit the site and download your application. Just print it out, fill it out and turn it in at the City Clerk's Office or City's Lakes Headquarters.

If you plan on applying and are drawn for a hunt I certainly wouldn't be opposed to accepting any elk meat you'd like to share. Without a doubt elk is the absolute best, hands down!

It's been awhile since I've had any and I'm thinking some homemade jerky, chili, burgers and steaks would be perfect. But, only if you run out of room in your freezer.

All the details you need to get an application for this year's elk hunt and get signed up is listed in the official City of Lawton press release below:
