Lawton’s Best Lunch Deal Is Back… For Now
It was the very tail end of March or the very beginning of April last year when Sam's Club shut down their deli due to the global coronavirus pandemic, and we've been craving it ever since. There's just something about that cheap pizza that is both amazing and a tremendous deal. $2.50 and some change for a slice and a large pop? You can't beat it anywhere, especially since it's probably the best slice of pizza you can find anywhere in Lawton according to my own opinion. So when we noticed the deli was reopened on a quick trip to grab some necessities, we had to sit down and enjoy a bite.
Of course, while it's a very welcome addition back to the world nearly normal, not all is like it used to be. The area normally set aside for tables has fewer tables than it used to, making a sit-down meal luck of the draw. I want to say there used to be twelve tables to choose from, now there are six spread out to accommodate social distancing since most of the Southern half states have just forgotten about Covid-19, seeing our numbers soar with the new (probably released by the global government) strain. So while we weren't able to snatch a table thanks to the three Karen's that occupied the space while their poor spouses were ordering for them, the pizza was still just as good as ever in the car. I mean, it was sort of weird eating it with hands instead of utensils, but still delicious. I am glad they're back until the powers that be decide to do something stupid again and make it go away once more.
