Rancher’s Market Update: February Now Looks Like the Month
Back in September, it felt like someone had yanked the flavor right out of Southwest Oklahoma. When Rancher’s Market announced it was closing, most of us figured that was it. No more locally sourced ribeyes. No more thick-cut bacon you couldn’t find anywhere else. No more stepping into a butcher shop that still felt like rural Oklahoma instead of another beige, chain-store meat aisle.
Then came the surprise.
In December, Rancher’s Market announced they were coming back. New location, just a few doors down from the old spot, and plans to reopen in January. Same people. Same idea. Same relief for anyone who had been stretching their last freezer bundle a little longer than planned.
January Came And Went
Now, as of last Friday, Rancher’s Market says they’re still opening, just not quite yet. The current plan is late this week, toward the end of February. No big relaunch spectacle, no overexplaining, just a simple update and a little more waiting.
When Rancher’s Market does reopen, the expectation is the same lineup folks have been missing. Local beef. Specialty cuts. Bulk orders. Somehow still cheaper than the box stores.
So no, January didn’t work out. That’s fine. At this point, we’re just ready.
Rancher’s Market is still planning to come back, and if the doors really do open by the end of this week, Southwest Oklahoma finally gets a little piece of itself back. Better get the freezers ready.
