Remember That KISS Restaurant in North OKC? Here’s What Happened
For a minute there, Rock & Brews felt like it was going to be a thing in Oklahoma City.
Back in 2016, the KISS owned restaurant opened a North OKC location with a lot of noise behind it. Literally and figuratively. This was Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley putting their stamp on a place that promised classic rock vibes, burgers, craft beer, and enough band memorabilia to make you feel like you’d accidentally wandered backstage at a concert.
And honestly, it worked… at first.
Rock & Brews was fun. Loud. A little over the top. TVs everywhere, guitars on the walls, KISS branding baked into just about every inch of the place. It felt like the kind of spot you’d hit before a Thunder game or after work when you didn’t want quiet food. You wanted volume, grease, and a soundtrack.
It Didn't Last In OKC
Just two years later, the North OKC Rock & Brews quietly closed its doors. No farewell tour. No encore. It was just… gone. One of those restaurants people still bring up randomly. “Hey, remember that KISS place?” Yeah. That one.
What a lot of folks don’t realize is Rock & Brews didn’t disappear from Oklahoma entirely.
Today, two Rock & Brews locations are still alive and well inside Oklahoma casinos. One at River Bend Casino near the OK/AR border in Wyandotte, and another is, well, complicated. It's not just a restaurant, it's the Rock & Brews Casino off I-35 near the Kansas border in Braman. Same rock themed menu, same music driven atmosphere, just paired with slot machines and late nights instead of strip malls.
A Better Fit
Rock & Brews always felt better suited for a destination stop. Somewhere you stumble into at night, neon lights buzzing, music thumping, and time not really mattering. Casinos give it that energy. North OKC… maybe not so much.
So while the original location is long gone, Rock & Brews still exists in Oklahoma, just wearing a slightly different stage outfit. Not every band nails the first tour stop, but sometimes the later venues fit the music better anyway.
