We Finally Know What’s Moving Into the Old K-Mart in Lawton
Well, we finally know what they're doing with the old K-Mart building on 38th Street in Lawton, OK. There have been rumors galore and everyone's been taking a guess as to what will be going into the location. It's a big building with plenty of property so we knew it would eventually be something large, or we hoped so anyway.
If you've been down 38th Street lately you may have noticed all the activity and the sign posted out front. It looks like U-Haul will be taking it over and turning it into self-storage. Not too sure if the current U-Haul on the corner of 11th Street and Cache Road (1102 N.W. Cache Rd) will be relocating to that location as well, but there's a pretty good chance they will. Or at least it makes sense that they would, but who knows?
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think Lawton, Fort Sill currently has an indoor self-storage in town. We do have several storage places but most, if not all of them aren't housed inside a building and are only accessible outdoors. I could be wrong though. With Lawton being home to Fort Sill and having so many transient people and families here, having more storage options is a good thing. Especially if you're Military.
Over the past several months we've heard all kinds of crazy rumors that it was going to be an Incredible Pizza, some thought it was going to be a Best Buy and a few people swore that Bass Pro Shop or Cabela's were coming to town. There were even people who were convinced that Amazon was going to make it into a fulfillment warehouse. All were good guesses, but it's actually going to be a U-Haul self-storage.
