Although it hasn't been 100% officially confirmed yet, it looks like Lawton, Fort Sill will be getting another car wash sometime soon. If you've been anywhere near the corner of Sheridan Road and Erwin Lane you've probably seen all the construction going on. It's starting to take shape now and it looks like...A car wash.

Again, we're not absolutely sure that's what it's going to be but that's the rumor going around town. After stopping by and taking a look this morning, the rumors may be true. At least right now it appears to be a car wash. It's long, narrow and the center is trenched out down the middle. So more than likely...It's a car wash.

I'm not too sure just how many carwashes one town needs but obviously, we haven't reached that unknown number to date. It's been the running joke that every time someone breaks ground somewhere in Lawton everyone just assumes it's another car wash. To be fair that's been pretty accurate, at least lately it has been.

This past July/August construction crews began tearing down the old Wolverton Furniture along with the small shopping center on the corner of Sheridan and Erwin. Click here for the story and pictures. Even then people joked that a car wash would more than likely be built there. Well, it's looking like that may just be true.

While it's certainly a good thing anytime a new business decides to open up in Lawton, it's just disappointing that all we seem to get is carwashes. Well, that and dispensaries. There's even a rumor that the open lot next to the new Sonic location on N. Sheridan Road is going to be a car wash. Click here for the details on that.
