The visitor's center in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refugee is officially back open! It's been closed for a little over 2 years due to the COVID-19 pandemic but has just reopened to the public.

It's been forever since we've had the opportunity to go so I'm thinking this weekend would be the perfect time to stop by and spend a little time at the visitors center. Maybe take a drive up Mount Scott while we're at it.

If you've never been to the visitor's center out at the mountains you're missing out. It's a great place that has all kinds of displays and information about the Wichita Mountains. It's like a museum slash visitor's center.

There are tons of exhibits and interactive displays that the entire family will enjoy. You can even watch a short film in the theater that gives the history of the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge and the Buffalo herds.

You can also get detailed information about all the various attractions and locations in the refuge. Find out the best places to go for wildlife, scenery, lakes, hiking trails, picnic and camping areas you can visit.
