Not a lot of people know about or have seen the awesome Cache Creek Falls in the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Lawton, OK. It's hidden but easy to find and get to. It requires a short hike, but worth it.

You'll find this amazing hidden waterfall off the beaten path at the 40-Foot Hole in the Wichita Mountains. To get there take a short hike down Kite Trail and you'll reach your destination in no time. Takes about an hour.

GET DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO FIND & GET TO THIS HIDDEN WATERFALL BELOW

If you're unfamiliar with Kite Trial or the other trail systems at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge you can always stop by the visitor's center to pick up a map to guide you. Kite trail is well-marked and ranked as easy.

The path to get to the 40-Foot Hole and Cache Creek Falls is easy to walk and follow. Kite Trail is around 2.4 miles long if you count getting there and back. It'll take about an hour to get to the 40-Foot Hole and return.

SEEING THE FALLS IN PERSON IS WORTH THE SHORT HIKE ON KITE TRAIL

Along the way, you'll see all kinds of incredible views, scenery, and even wildlife. It's a great little hike that doesn't take too long or is too difficult. It's the perfect trail to hike early to mid-morning before it gets hot.

As you get closer to the falls be mindful of your footing. The terrain becomes very rocky and there are cliffs and ledges so be careful. Especially if you decide to get closer or climb down the canyon to the falls.

THE 40-FOOT HOLE IS ONE OF THE MOST PICTURESQUE PLACES IN THE STATE

Also, if you're thinking of taking a swim there's no swimming allowed at the 40-Foot Hole. You can wade and dip your feet in, but that's about it. As epic and beautiful as the falls are they can also be quite dangerous.
